トミー・タナカ
偉大なシェイパーErnie Tanaka を父親に持ち、シェイプ暦20年以上のベテランの域に達したハワイのトップシェイパー。父親から引き継いだサーフィンへの情熱と才能は、現状に留まることなく新しいアイデイアへのチャレンジを繰り返し、乗り手一人ひとりのフィードバックを理解しシェイプに取入れることで、乗り手の求めるあらゆるスタイルのボードを作ることを可能する。また、多くの素晴らしいシェイパーのいるハワイで、自分のシェイプしたサーフボードを多くの人が支持してくれる事が彼の誇りである。

SHAPING PHILOSOPHY Keep lines clean and simple. It's all about the flow! I feel it's super important to listen to who I'm shaping the board for. I try to get into their head and shape what they want, not what I want them to ride. Any feedback is good feedback.

MOTIVATION/INSPIRATION I'm inspired by seeing all types of people riding my boards. There are so many good shapers in Hawaii and it's an honor to have my name on people's boards.
BOARD DESIGN INTO THE FUTURE This year (2007) I really want to work on fin placement and design. I want to try my favorite boards with different fin placements, tow, and rake set ups. I'd also like to work on my big guy boards; shorter, thicker fun boards and long boards that paddles well and performs well.
